This is our first project in the nation of India and it is an incredible project at that! We have taken on the task of building an entire community in the area of India recently devastated by the tsunami in 2004. The current situation of the orphans and widows in this area is horrendous. The facility these children currently live in is a cramped, dark building in the city without ventilation and raw sewage running in the gutter outside the front door. It is a building that would be quickly condemned here at home, and yet here they are, still smiling through it all. We must provide a better facility to house and educate these children.
The brick work has been completed on a building which is being constructed for a new community situated on three wide-open acres outside of town. There is still much work to be done, both outside and inside the building. This facility will not only house 150 children, it will also include a Christian school for 1000 students, and a church that will seat 1000. Surrounding the complex will be cottages to house area widows, who will in turn help to nurture and raise these children to be strong believers in Christ. The Christian school will include a classroom for every grade K-12, a nursery, a computer room, a huge study hall and a science room. They will learn the English, Telegu and Hindu language and more importantly, they will be taught the Word of God. There will also be a medical clinic with an on staff nurse and chiropractor.
To accomplish this, we must come to you on their behalf asking for your help. As you can tell, this is a monumental task, but one that God has called us to do. Abiding Glory Ministries has already sent a generous amount of support over for this community. But we must not fall short in seeing the work carried through to completion for the glory of God!
All we ask now is that you pray and ask Him what your role should be in this effort. Maybe you can send a little, maybe you can send a lot, whatever your circumstances I know that you will be blessed many times over for your help.

Just think, the children you house and educate through this donation will grow up to be the Christian leaders in this area and will win souls and claim their world for Christ. You will be sowing seeds that will reap a harvest so big that only God can count.

LATEST UPDATE:
The rice field was filled with dirt and the grounds were prepared for the foundation to be built. They built the foundation 12 ft deep for it to be sturdy. They completed the first floor and sealed and painted most of the rooms where the children would sleep. The children were able to move out of the rental home at the beginning of 2009 and into their new home! They were so excited to finally be there. However, due to the increased cost of materials since we initially took on the project, additional monthly support is needed to cover the basic needs of the children.
Phase 2 of the building project will include the construction of the school, toilets, showers, kitchen, dining room, pantry and living quarters for the house parents. Then, Phase 3 will include furnishing the school and those rooms.
